We are spiritual contributors not spiritual consumers. The church does not exist for us. We are the church and we exist for the world.Wow. So the question we're left with: What are we contributing?

Great question and one that starts with a personal inquiry. At today's small group discussion we talked about our "Church has left the building" possibilities. We reflected upon the scripture of John 13:35 35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." This scripture is much larger in scope then loving those who are friends and family. It reaches outside the walls of the church. The demonstration of Christ's love is by responding to His love for us by expressing it to the world at large... this is the context of our consideration of how we exercise the Church has left the building! Don't know exactly what we are going to do, but we have a firm grasp of the motivation... I believe that is moving toward contributing and not consuming.
